In October 2023, Artie launched the “Flame Plan” in collaboration with leading universities in Guangdong, China. This initiative, combining the efforts of academic institutions and social organizations, led to the creation of the “Artie Sheltered Workshop”—a project designed to provide stable employment, skill development, and enhance the overall well-being of individuals with disabilities.
Supported by the local government and in partnership with the Xin Qi Dian Employment and Rehabilitation Factory, the Artie Sheltered Workshop officially opened its doors on March 1, 2024. The workshop seamlessly blends production with rehabilitation, offering disabled individuals a platform to contribute to society while gaining valuable work experience.
At the Artie Sheltered Workshop, employees repurpose leftover materials from Artie’s production processes to create beautiful woven bags and bracelets, as well as learn the art of traditional Cantonese embroidery. This initiative not only promotes sustainability but also encourages the development of new skills in a creative and therapeutic environment.
The workshop operates five days a week, with employees working six hours each day. For those who may experience emotional challenges at work, Artie provides professional rehabilitation specialists to offer emotional support and guidance, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all.
Looking to the future, Artie is committed to continuing its efforts to provide employment and rehabilitation opportunities for disabled individuals through the sheltered workshop. The long-term goal is to enhance the financial independence of participants. Additionally, Artie hopes to inspire more social enterprises to join the cause and actively contribute to the empowerment of disabled people.
